11 teams are searching for terrorists in peaks, valleys and caves
Following a series of three terrorist attacks over three days in Jammu and Kashmir, law enforcement and security agencies have resolved to take decisive action against the perpetrators. Clashes and manhunts involving security forces and terrorists have been underway across various districts from Tuesday night (11 June 2024) into Wednesday (12 June 2024).
Reports indicate that one terrorist has been neutralized during these encounters, and several individuals have been taken into custody during search operations across different districts. Authorities are also urging the terrorists to surrender. Here’s an overview of the locations where search operations are currently active:
Location of the Encounter:
An encounter ensued when terrorists fired upon residences in the Sawal area of Hiranagar in Samba district, Jammu, on Tuesday night. Security forces have successfully eliminated one terrorist during this confrontation. Another terrorist managed to escape, prompting extensive search operations across multiple locations to apprehend the fugitive.
Meanwhile, a second encounter occurred in the Chattargala area of Doda. Following a terrorist assault, a standoff between security forces and terrorists is ongoing. Concurrent with the encounter, search operations are being conducted in Bhaderwah and Doda by the police and security forces.
Three Attacks and Three Search Operations:
- June 9, 2024:
On this day, terrorists struck a 53-seater bus transporting pilgrims from the Shiv Khori temple to the Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Katra, Reasi, Jammu. The attack resulted in 10 fatalities and 41 injuries. The search operation to apprehend the fleeing terrorists involved in the Reasi bus attack continues into its third day. The police have so far detained 20 individuals, and 11 security force teams are actively seeking the terrorists. - June 11, 2024:
After the Reasi incident, terrorists struck again in Kathua on June 11. Gunfire was directed at civilian homes and passersby on the road. Police and security forces promptly arrived at the scene and attempted to corner the terrorists. A large-scale search operation is underway in the area to capture the terrorists. According to sources, one terrorist has been killed by the security forces, while the search for another terrorist is ongoing. - June 11, 2024:
The third terrorist attack occurred in Doda on Tuesday night. Terrorists fired upon a police and army checkpoint, leading to an ongoing encounter in the area. In addition to deploying drones, the army and paramilitary forces have cordoned off the entire area to prevent any hiding terrorists from escaping.
