YSR Telangana Party chief YS Sharmila in Telangana on Thursday showed Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) a pair of shoes kept in a box and challenged him to join the Praja Prasthan Padyatra. Said- It will be easy to walk wearing them and they will be able to know the problems of the public.
Telangana, which was carved out of Andhra Pradesh, has assembly elections later this year. In such a situation, YSR Telangana Party chief YS Sharmila has opened a front against Chief Minister KCR. Sharmila is taking out a Praja Prasthan Padyatra in the state. She is the daughter of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YSR and sister of current CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. Sharmila formed the YSRTP party in 2021.
The Yatra was put on hold last year after an alleged attack on his convoy. The journey will resume from Narasampet on Thursday. While talking to the media while starting the journey, Sharmila challenged KCR to accompany her. He said that KCR claims Telangana to be the Golden State. If this turns out to be true, she will retire from politics. If this is not true, then KCR will have to resign and apologize to the people of the state and make a Dalit the chief minister.
In November, the police pulled the car along with the crane for protesting against KCR.
On November 29 last year, the Telangana police towed away Sharmila’s car with a crane. Sharmila was present in the car and while it was being towed, she was raising slogans against KCR from inside. In fact, some people tried to set ablaze a campaign bus running along with Sharmila’s padayatra. In this case, the action was taken against the workers of Sharmila’s party only. After this, she had come to protest with the workers. Police took Sharmila into custody. Later the court granted him conditional bail.
Dharna was staged on the road on the allegation of stopping the journey
In December last year, Sharmila accused Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao of stopping her padayatra. She sat on a dharna on the road in Hyderabad and said – I am on hunger strike demanding protection of democracy in Telangana and I should be allowed to do my padayatra.
Sharmila had told her life was in danger
Sharmila had alleged a conspiracy behind the death of her father and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy in September. Sharmila, who went on a padayatra to Telangana, had claimed that plans were being made to kill her too.
In Mahbubnagar, Sharmila had said- YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s death is the result of a conspiracy and attempts are being made to kill me too, but Telangana Chief Minister KCR should remember that I am YSR’s daughter and fearless. Rajasekhara Reddy died in a helicopter crash in December 2009, a few months after leading the Congress to a second consecutive victory in the assembly elections.
