‘sex positions’ clip: FIR against Ajaz Khan, ‘House Arrest’ producer by Mumbai Police

Mumbai: On Friday, the Mumbai Police filed a First Information Report (FIR) against actor Ajaz Khan, producer Rajkumar Pandey, and others for purportedly featuring obscene material in their web series ‘House Arrest’ available on the Ullu app.

According to an official from the Amboli police station, the case was initiated following a complaint from Gautam Ravriya, a Bajrang Dal activist. The complaint alleges that certain video clips circulating on social media depict Ajaz Khan coercing contestants, including women, into intimate scenarios and posing inappropriate questions.

The complainant further claimed that the show includes ‘obscene language’ and actions that disrespect women’s dignity, noting that he received numerous complaints regarding the vulgarity of the content. Consequently, the producer and host of ‘House Arrest’ face charges under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Information Technology Act, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

Additionally, the National Commission for Women (NCW) summoned Ajaz Khan and Ullu App CEO Vibhu Agarwal after a clip from the reality show gained widespread attention. On Thursday, Maharashtra BJP MLC Chitra Wagh called for an immediate ban on ‘House Arrest’, asserting that its content is obscene and detrimental to society, particularly to children, and urged IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to take stringent measures against mobile applications that endorse such material.
