Saharanpur: Massive blast in a firecracker factory in Deoband, 3 dead

Saharanpur: A major accident took place in Jadauda Jatt village of Devband police station area of ​​Saharanpur on Saturday morning. A massive explosion took place in a firecracker factory located in the village, in which three people died a painful death. The explosion was so massive that the walls and roof of the factory were blown away. The sound of the accident was heard several kilometers away.

Authorities are concerned about substantial damage, as workers were present in the factory at the time, leading to the building’s complete collapse. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding casualties or property loss.

An official source reported that the explosion took place in Nihal Khedi village, within the jurisdiction of the Deoband Police Station. Emergency services were promptly dispatched, and senior district officials are on-site to manage the relief and rescue efforts. A police representative stated, ‘Upon receiving the report, police and fire services arrived immediately.

Relief and rescue operations are currently underway. The explosion’s intensity was such that it was audible up to two kilometres away.’ Reports indicate that approximately nine workers were inside the factory during the incident.

A local resident noted that the explosion’s force was so great that it dismembered the bodies of the deceased. Villagers have alleged that several illegal firecracker factories are operating in the vicinity and have attributed the situation to ‘administrative negligence.’
