Punjab CM exhorts people to become integral part of anti-drug drive

Chandigarh: On Sunday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann called for the active involvement and collaboration of the state’s residents to turn the ongoing anti-drug campaign into a widespread movement.

In an audio message, the Chief Minister announced that the government has initiated a significant offensive against drug abuse, termed ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’. He firmly stated that the drug epidemic in the state has proliferated due to the support of previous administrations.

Mann emphasized that his government is committed to creating a drug-free Punjab and is leaving no effort unmade in this endeavor. He asserted that the success of this campaign relies heavily on the active participation of the general public. To facilitate this, the state government has established a WhatsApp helpline at 9779100200, encouraging citizens to report any information regarding drug traffickers operating in their communities.

He assured that the anonymity of callers would be preserved. Mann stressed the necessity of robust public support and cooperation in this ambitious initiative against drugs, urging citizens to engage significantly in this critical effort.
