New Delhi: On Sunday, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir intensified their operations against terrorists, following the tragic Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives. They demolished the two-story home of Adnan Shafi Dar, a terrorist linked to The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy group of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba, in Melhura, Zainapora, Shopian district.
Additionally, the residence of another terrorist, Amir Nazir, was destroyed in the Daramdora area of Pulwama. The forces also took down the house of Jameel Ahmed’s father, who has been in Pakistan since 2017.
To date, nine terrorist homes have been demolished in the Kashmir Valley. This crackdown coincides with rising border tensions between India and Pakistan after the attack, with new ceasefire violations reported in the Nowgam and Uri sectors overnight.
The Indian Army responded decisively to unprovoked fire from Pakistani posts in Rampur Uri and Tutmargali, stating that their troops effectively returned fire. In response to the Pahalgam terror incident, India has implemented strong measures against Pakistan, including the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty. Meanwhile, Ghulam Rasool Magray, a 45-year-old social activist who was shot by unidentified gunmen on Saturday, has died from his injuries.
