Manipur Violence: Violence increased in Manipur after protests against the murder of two missing students. On 26 September, violent clashes broke out between police and protesters. In which the police had to open fire.
In view of the current situation, the state government has declared the state as a disturbed area for the next six months from October 1. However, 19 police station areas have been excluded from this.
Which includes Imphal, Lenphle, City, Singjmei, Sekmai, Lamsang, Patsoi, Wangoi, Porompat, Hangeng, Lamlai, Irilbung, Lemkhong, Thobul, Bishnupur, Nambol, Moirong, Kakching and Jiribam.
Demonstrations took place for the second consecutive day on Wednesday. Thousands of students took to the streets to protest. During this time the police tried to stop them due to which some students got injured.
The women’s wing of the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) also demonstrated in Churachandpur against the delay in ordering a CBI probe into the killing and rape of tribals over a period of five months.
On the other hand, CBI will go to Imphal today to investigate the murder of the student. This information has been given by Chief Minister N Biren Singh. He said that the Central and State Governments are working together in this matter. The culprits will not be spared. Soon all the accused will be arrested.

September 23: After the ban on mobile internet was lifted in the state on September 23, photographs of the dead bodies of two students were revealed, which went viral on social media. In the photo, both their bodies are seen lying on the ground. Also, the boy’s head has been chopped off. However, the bodies of both have not been found yet. In July, both students were seen in the CCTV camera installed in a shop, but since then they could not be traced.
26 September: There was a clash between security forces and students in Imphal city on 26 September. In this, 54 students including 1 teacher were injured. The students were protesting against the murder of two students missing since July. All the injured have been admitted to the nearest hospital. After this incident, the state government has once again banned mobile internet till October 1.
September 26: A video went viral on social media in which an RAF soldier, while dealing with the protesting people, was heard saying, “They are not of our caste, do whatever you want.” Manipur Police denied this video. According to the police, the voice in the clip is not that of an RAF soldier. This was done with the intention of tarnishing the image of the security forces.
Students who were injured during the protest against the killing of students were admitted to a nearby hospital.

175 dead, 1100 injured so far in Manipur
So far 175 people have been killed in the caste violence that has been going on in Manipur for the last 4 months. More than 1100 people have been injured. Not only this, 5172 cases of arson were reported, which included incidents of burning and vandalism of 4786 houses and 386 religious places.
More than 65 thousand people left their homes after the violence
So far, more than 65 thousand people have left their homes in Manipur. 6 thousand cases have been registered and 144 people have been arrested. 36 thousand security personnel and 40 IPS have been deployed in the state. A total of 129 posts have been set up in both the hill and valley districts.
