Maninderjit Singh Bedi Appointed As New Advocate General Of Punjab

Advocate Maninderjit Singh Bedi has been appointed as the new Advocate General (AG) of Punjab following the resignation of Senior Advocate Gurminder Singh from the position.

A notification released late in the evening announced, “The Governor of Punjab, exercising the authority granted under Article 165 of the Constitution of India, is pleased to appoint Sh. Maninderjit Singh Bedi, son of Inderjit Singh Bedi, as Advocate General for the State of Punjab, effective from the date he assumes his office.”

In a letter dated March 30, Senior Advocate Gurminder Singh stated, “As I plan to return to my private practice, I do not wish to continue in this role.”

He is the third Advocate General to resign from the position in Punjab during the three years of the Aam Aadmi Party’s governance.
