Maharashtra News: Sharad Pawar will not contest the next Lok Sabha elections. Sources have informed that the NCP chief has said this. Sharad Pawar presented his views in front of party workers and leaders during the review meeting regarding the Dindori Lok Sabha seat. In the review meeting regarding Lok Sabha seats on Wednesday, leaders and workers had requested Sharad Pawar to contest from Madha Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra. After the rebellion in the party, Pawar toured the country with the state to strengthen the party. Sharad Pawar is currently a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament.
It is noteworthy that in July this year, there was a split in Sharad Pawar’s party. Nephew Ajit Pawar rebelled in the party. This incident completely shook the politics of Maharashtra. Sharad Pawar also faced a big challenge to save the party. The matter reached the threshold of the Election Commission when Ajit Pawar claimed the party and election symbol after the rebellion. The matter is under the Election Commission.
In Maharashtra, there is an alliance of Sharad Pawar’s NCP, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress. All three parties will contest the Lok Sabha elections together. The distribution of seats for the Lok Sabha elections will be finalized soon. Sharad Pawar on Wednesday said that the seat sharing among the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance partners for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections will be finalized soon. These three parties are also part of the opposition alliance ‘India’. Party spokesperson Mahesh Tapase said Pawar held a meeting here to review the party’s election preparations in seven Lok Sabha constituencies of Maharashtra – Kolhapur, Hatkanangle, Raver, Baramati, Shirur, Satara and Madha. He said Pawar highlighted the failures of the BJP-led government and encouraged party workers to openly expose these shortcomings to the public.
