Hanuman Janmotsav: Thousands of Devotees Recite Sunderkand in Unison

New Delhi: Today, Hanuman Janmotsav is being celebrated with immense enthusiasm throughout the nation. The chants of Bajrang Bali can be heard in every locality, as devotees pay their respects at Hanuman temples. Various processions, including Kalash Yatra and Shobha Yatra, are taking place in different regions. From Kolkata to Lucknow, Hyderabad, Patna, and Delhi, hundreds of thousands of Sanatanis are parading with saffron flags in the streets. In Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad organized a Shobha Yatra under strict security measures, with police granting permission subject to specific conditions.

In Ghaziabad’s Vasundhara One, thousands of devotees convened at Hindon Park to collectively recite Sunderkand. The atmosphere transformed into one of devotion as women and children participated in rhythmic recitation. The emotional expressions of the devotees, along with the remarkable discipline exhibited by the children, have made this event a topic of conversation throughout Ghaziabad.

Acharya Chandan Dubey remarked that the gathering was entirely spiritual in nature. He noted that today marks the formation of Rajyoga alongside Panchgrahi Yoga, coinciding with a rare planetary alignment on Chaitra Purnima. Through the recitation of Sunderkand, the community has collectively prayed to Hanuman ji for blessings upon the world, wishing for happiness and prosperity while seeking protection from natural calamities.

Senior journalist Prakash Singh characterized the event as a purely spiritual initiative, emphasizing its role in connecting children to their cultural roots. He highlighted that Sanatan culture fosters a profound ideological curiosity, a quest for life’s meaning and purpose, and strengthens interpersonal relationships.

Devotee Ashish Srivastava, who is involved in organizing the Bhandaar, expresses that spirituality has become the sole refuge for alleviating mental stress and preserving relationships. He notes that through the Akhand Paath, even if only briefly, our children can learn the virtues exemplified by Lord Shri Ram and the self-control of Mahabali Hanuman, despite his great strength.

The primary motivation for discussing this program in Ghaziabad is its nature as a distinctly religious event. Participants of all ages—youth, seniors, women, and children—engage in the recitation of Sundarkand with a sense of discipline.
