Suchana Seth, startup CEO held for murder of four-year-old son
New Delhi/Bengaluru: The CEO of a Bengaluru start-up is accused of killing her four-year-old son. The CEO of the artificial intelligence start-up Mindful AI Lab, Suchana Seth, was detained yesterday in Chitradurga, Karnataka, with her son’s body in a bag.
Although the shocking crime’s motive is still unknown, police believe that the CEO’s strained marriage to Venkat Raman may have played a role in the murder. “They are nearing the end of their divorce proceedings,” North Goa Superintendent of Police Nidhin Valsan stated. Suchana informed police during questioning that she was dissatisfied with a court order and that she and her husband continued to have a tense relationship.
According to officials, at the time of the incident, her spouse was in Indonesia. “We have informed him about the murder and asked him to return to India,” said Mr Valsan. Police said the forensic team is gathering evidence and inspecting the hotel’s security cameras. The crime was solved when bloodstains were discovered in the room that Suchana Dalal had checked out of yesterday by the apartment’s staff.
Following their notification, the Goa police contacted the taxi driver and requested to speak with her. When questioned about her son, she provided a fictitious address and stated he was with a friend. The driver was then contacted by the police once more, this time asking him to direct the taxi to the closest police station in Chitradurga.
The body of Suchana Seth’s son was discovered inside the bag she was traveling with when the taxi driver followed instructions and was arrested by the Chitradurga police. She was returned to Goa to be questioned.
Who is Suchana Seth?
Looking at Suchana Seth’s LinkedIn profile, it is known that she is the CEO of a startup named Mindful AI Lab. Suchana has also been a part of 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics for 2021. According to the profile, he is an AI ethics expert and data scientist. He has 12 years of experience in mentoring data science teams and scaling machine learning solutions in startups and industry research labs.
The accused woman has been a Mozilla Fellow in Data and Society at the Berkman Klein Center of Harvard University. She has also been a research fellow at the Raman Research Institute in Bengaluru. This research institute was established in 1948 by Nobel Prize winner CV Raman. Now this institute gets funding from the government. Suchana also has a patent in ‘Natural Language Processing’.
Interest in Sanskrit and Physics
The CEO of Mindful AI Lab graduated from Bhawanipur Education Society College, Kolkata. He studied B.Sc Physics from here. After this Suchana went to study at the University of Calcutta for post graduation. Here he has obtained an MSc degree in Physics.
The accused woman was very interested in physics. This was the reason why he has specialized in Plasma Physics along with Astrophysics. According to her LinkedIn profile, Suchana has also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Sanskrit. He had secured first position in this course.
