PATNA: There has been a significant increase in dengue cases in Patna. The Bihar Health Department on Monday, 4 September held a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on ways to deal with the uptick in dengue cases.
Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, who holds charge of health, was also present. The Patna district magistrate Dr Chandrashekher Singh himself been sick with dengue four days ago and was admitted to Paras hospital in Patna as his platelet count dropped. He is now recuperating well, after a platelet transfusion.
CM Nitish Kumar suddenly reached Paras Hospital to meet Patna’s DM, Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh. CM Nitish Kumar came to know about his well-being. Talked to the doctors. After this appealed to the hospital management to take care of DM Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh. Actually, DM Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh has got dengue. He was admitted to a big private hospital in Patna due to a continuous fall of platelets. He has been admitted to the hospital for the last 4 days. Meanwhile, CM Nitish Kumar got information about Patna DM being ill. Immediately after this, he went to meet him.
Platelets had to be transfused when the condition was critical
According to the doctor, the platelets of Patna DM Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh had dropped significantly. He is undergoing treatment. His condition has improved a lot. After this platelets had to be taken out from the apheresis machine and their platelets had to be plated. However, he seems to have a lot of weaknesses.
“Bihar Congress spokesperson Anand Madhav has issued a statement saying that when even senior government servants do not have faith in their government system, what will the general public do.”
Congratulating Patna District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar ji on his recovery from dengue, said that God blessed him with better health so that he can work for the society as an administrative officer.
Along with this, he has also said that only big government officials do not trust the government system, otherwise the capital of Bihar where there are four big hospitals (#AIIMS, #IGIMS, #PMCH & #NMCH) and big government claims too, yet the biggest officials of the district get their treatment done in private hospitals because they do not have faith in government doctors and hospital arrangements. If they do not have faith in their system, then how can we assure the general public of treatment there, this is a Yaksha question.
On the other hand, the private hospital took full advantage by spreading its propaganda by publishing the news of DM’s treatment in the newspapers (maybe even giving an advertisement tomorrow). I am not against private institutions, but I am a supporter of strengthening government institutions. I also went to private hospitals during the Corona period, because perhaps I have not been able to trust government hospitals till now. There is a serious question, When a big officer, that too a district officer and people like me do not have faith in the government system, then how to give confidence to the general public, who also need government hospitals and helplessness?
Government officials and politicians will have to take the initiative to increase the public’s faith in the government system. How do we think that where we cannot get our treatment done, that place will be right for our people? Until the government system is not strong, whether it is a hospital or a government school, all the claims of development are hollow.
