‘Demolished targets on camera so that no one asks for proof’: Modi on Op Sindoor

New Delhi: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that nine terrorist hideouts were eliminated in a mere 22 minutes during India’s airstrikes in Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, describing it as a decisive measure. While addressing a rally in Gandhinagar, he emphasized that the entire operation was captured on camera to quell any demands for evidence.

“This is a nation of the courageous. Up until now, we referred to it as a proxy war; however, following the events observed after May 6, we can no longer afford to label it as such. The justification lies in the fact that nine terrorist hideouts were pinpointed and obliterated in just 22 minutes, marking a decisive action. Furthermore, this time, everything was conducted in front of the cameras, ensuring that no one at home would request proof,” PM Narendra Modi stated at a rally in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Proxy War

Modi asserted that the term ‘proxy war’ is no longer applicable, as terrorists who were killed after May 6 were honored with full state funerals in Pakistan, draped in national flags and saluted by the Pakistani military. He indicated that this clearly demonstrates that terrorism is not merely a shadow conflict but rather a component of a calculated and organized military strategy.

“I assert that this cannot be termed a proxy war any longer, as the terrorists whose funerals took place after May 6 were accorded state honors in Pakistan. Their coffins were adorned with Pakistan’s flags, and they were saluted by their army. This substantiates that terrorist activities are not a proxy war but a meticulously orchestrated war strategy. You are already engaged in warfare, and you will receive an appropriate response. We do not harbor animosity towards anyone. Our desire is to coexist peacefully. We also aspire to progress so that we can contribute to global welfare,” Modi remarked.

Prior to his speech at the rally, Modi conducted a grand roadshow in Gandhinagar on Tuesday morning, where large crowds gathered to welcome him.

This marked the Prime Minister’s fourth roadshow during his two-day visit to Gujarat, and it was his first return to his home state since Operation Sindoor, India’s military response to the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22.
