Changes in Bihar Congress before elections, list of new district presidents released?

Patna: Congress is committed to thorough preparations for a robust entry into the Bihar assembly elections. On March 18, the party appointed a new state president, Rajesh Kumar Ram. Within just 14 days of his appointment, there have been significant changes in the district leadership, with many district presidents being replaced due to allegations of inadequate performance. In total, 20 new district presidents have been appointed, with the notable addition of two working presidents each in Gaya and Katihar.

New appointments in Patna

In Patna, Shashi Ranjan has been appointed as the district president for the city unit, while Ranjit Kumar will serve as the working district president. Additionally, Sumit Kumar Sunny has been designated as the district president for Patna rural, with Uday Chandravanshi taking on the role of working president. Gurujeet Singh will lead as the district president for Patna rural two, and Neetu Nishad has been appointed as the working district president.

Announcement by General Secretary K.C. Venugopal

The All India Congress Committee has announced this reshuffle, with General Secretary K.C. Venugopal providing details in a press release. The release also includes the list of newly appointed presidents for the District Congress Committees. This restructuring has been strategically planned to consider the caste dynamics in Bihar. The party asserts that these appointments are a crucial step toward reinforcing the Congress presence in the state, with hopes that the new leaders will elevate the party’s standing in their respective districts.
