Bhupesh Baghel: New hope from employment mission

Chhattisgarh ranks second in terms of lowest unemployment rate in the country. Recently, the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) released the data for the month of April. According to this, the unemployment rate in Chhattisgarh was 0.6% in April 2022. With the same rate in March also, Chhattisgarh topped among the states with the lowest unemployment rate in the country. This time it has slipped down a notch. Himachal Pradesh is number one on this.

Haryana tops in highest unemployment

According to the latest data, Haryana tops in terms of highest unemployment rate. The unemployment rate there has been recorded at 34.5%. The unemployment rate has been reported in Bihar at 21.1%, in Jammu and Kashmir 15.6% and in Goa at 15.5%. Meanwhile, the national unemployment rate has risen by 0.9% to 7.8% since March. The unemployment rate in April is 9.2% in urban areas and 7.2% in rural areas. Chhattisgarh’s unemployment rate has remained consistently low, according to monthly data from the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE).

Impact of new employment model

The latest figures of unemployment rate are being told as the effect of the new model of employment in Chhattisgarh. From selling cattle dung to making cow dung products, villagers got employment here. 65 types of minor forest produce were purchased on support price. Simultaneously, the forest produce was processed and put in the market. The income of farmers was stabilized by the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. The area under cultivation and production increased in the state.

Now new hope from employment mission

Employment Mission has been started in Chhattisgarh on the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Under this, a target has been set to create 12 to 15 lakh new jobs in the state in the next five years. For this, many new areas of employment will also be explored. Employment Mission is a new hope for the youth of the state.
