Ghaziabad: The path has been cleared for the establishment of a satellite center for the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Vasundhara Sector 7, Ghaziabad. The Awas Vikas Parishad approved the land allocation during its board meeting in Lucknow on Friday. A total of 10 acres of land will be provided to AIIMS, valued at approximately Rs 487 crore.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had previously proposed the construction of the AIIMS satellite center in Ghaziabad prior to the elections, which led to intensified preparations. The Awas Vikas Parishad had presented land options in Vasundhara, Siddharth Vihar, and Mandola Vihar Yojana to the officials of AIIMS.
With the approval of the land proposal in the recent board meeting, the construction of the hospital in Vasundhara Sector 7 is now set to proceed.
The satellite center of AIIMS will be situated on this designated land, specifically in the area adjacent to Indirapuram. The housing development department will issue a formal letter to AIIMS, initiating the subsequent steps in the process.
Vasundhara Sector 7 benefits from excellent connectivity, being in close proximity to Namo Bharat Station and a short distance from NH 9 and the Delhi Meerut Expressway. An elevated road also runs nearby, while the Kaushambi Bus Depot, Anand Vihar Railway Station, and bus stand are easily accessible.
Additionally, flights have commenced from the Hindon Airport Civil Terminal, facilitating easier access for the public. The residents of Trans Hindon have long advocated for a government hospital, and this development will significantly benefit the people of the National Capital Region and western Uttar Pradesh, while also alleviating some of the patient load from Delhi’s AIIMS.
Uttar Pradesh Housing Commissioner Dr. Balkar Singh stated that the Chief Minister has directed the allocation of suitable land for the AIIMS Satellite Center. Consequently, the board meeting has approved the proposal to allocate 10 acres of land in Vasundhara Sector 7. The land will be transferred to AIIMS shortly, allowing the subsequent processes to commence.
