New Delhi: On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that following the Indian armed forces’ ‘Operation Sindoor’, both global and national adversaries are now aware of the consequences when vermilion transforms into gunpowder. He emphasized that the terrorists who aimed to erase the ‘sindoor’ of the nation’s daughters have ultimately been ‘reduced to dust’. During an event in Deshnoke, Rajasthan, he remarked, ‘The world has witnessed the outcome when vermilion turns into gunpowder.’
Reflecting on the April 22 Pahalgam attack, PM Modi noted that the terrorists attempted to destroy the ‘sindoor’ of the nation’s sisters by questioning their religion. He pointed out that while bullets were aimed at terrorists in Pahalgam, they struck the hearts of all 1.4 billion citizens of India.
With your support and the bravery of our armed forces, we have fulfilled that commitment
He highlighted the collective resolve of the nation to unite and deliver a formidable response to the terrorists, ensuring they face a punishment beyond their imagination. Today, he affirmed, ‘With your support and the bravery of our armed forces, we have fulfilled that commitment.’ The unrestricted authority granted to the military led to a unified effort among the Army, Navy, and Air Force, compelling Pakistan to submit.
At the public rally in Deshnoke, PM Modi declared that through Operation Sindoor, India retaliated against the April 22 attack by eliminating nine significant terror hideouts in just 22 minutes. ‘After the airstrike, I visited Churu and vowed, ‘I swear on this soil, I will protect my country and ensure it does not bow down.’
‘Sindoor turns into barood’
Today, from the land of Rajasthan, I want to convey to the citizens, ‘Those who sought to erase the vermilion have been turned to dust.’ He concluded by stating that those who have spilled the nation’s blood have been made to account for every single drop.
Those who believed India would stay passive are now hiding in their homes. Those who once boasted about their weaponry are now buried beneath debris, PM Modi remarked. He characterized Operation Sindoor as a novel form of justice, emphasizing that it is not merely a game of pursuit and retaliation. ‘This is not just a reaction; it represents the formidable essence of a capable India, a new incarnation of India,’ the Prime Minister stated.
On May 7, the Indian military executed precise strikes on nine terror facilities associated with groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen, and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) as part of ‘Operation Sindoor’. This operation was initiated in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, predominantly civilians, and eliminated over 100 terrorists.
The entire tri-service force, comprising the Army, Navy, and Air Force, united for this military action against terrorism and Pakistan. Subsequently, Pakistan attempted to retaliate against India, but all its efforts involving cross-border shelling, drones, and UAVs were successfully countered by the Indian armed forces and air defense systems. After four days of intense cross-border conflict, the two nuclear-armed nations reached a ceasefire agreement. Nevertheless, India’s punitive actions against Pakistan, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, remain in effect.
