New Delhi: A firefight erupted between security forces and militants in the Singhpora region of Chatroo, located in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, as reported by the J&K Police on Wednesday.
Local sources indicated that at least three militants are cornered in the ongoing confrontation. This incident follows India’s targeted strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir on May 7, after which Pakistan attempted assaults on Indian military installations on May 8, 9, and 10.
The Indian forces responded decisively to these provocations. The conflict concluded with an agreement to cease hostilities after discussions between the military operations directors of both nations on May 10. Operation Sindoor was initiated by India in retaliation for a terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 individuals, primarily tourists.
