New Delhi: Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani attended a state dinner in honor of Donald Trump, hosted by Qatar. Ambani, who is the chairman of Reliance Industries, was captured on video as he greeted both Trump and the Qatari emir at Lusail Palace.
Reports from the Washington Post indicate that Trump and the emir spent nearly an hour in a receiving line, welcoming numerous distinguished guests, including Ambani. The footage shows Ambani warmly greeting Trump and engaging in conversation for a few minutes before proceeding inside, where he also shook hands with Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Subsequently, he was observed conversing and laughing with US Secretary of Commerce Steve Lutnick. This marks Ambani’s second encounter with Trump since the latter’s inauguration, following a pre-inauguration dinner attended by Ambani and his wife, Nita, in January.
The state dinner at Lusail Palace in Doha was described as a grand event, filled with the aroma of incense and accompanied by the sounds of drums and singing as guests arrived. Additionally, the Washington Post reported that Elon Musk was present at the dinner, albeit arriving 30 minutes late, and utilized a strategy to advance in the queue.
