Indian Army ‘effectively repulses’ Pakistan’s overnight drone attacks: ‘Befitting reply given’

New Delhi: On Friday, the Indian Army announced that it had delivered a strong response to a series of coordinated assaults by the Pakistan Armed Forces along the western border, including the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir during the night of May 8 and 9. The Army reported that the drone attacks were successfully countered.

In an official statement, the Army detailed that Pakistan initiated several drone strikes and employed various munitions across the entire western frontier. Alongside the aerial attacks, Pakistani troops engaged in numerous ceasefire violations (CFVs) along the LoC.

‘OPERATION SINDOOR. The Pakistan Armed Forces executed multiple drone attacks and utilized other munitions along the entire Western Border on the night of May 08 and 09, 2025. Pakistani troops also committed numerous ceasefire violations (CFVs) along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. ‘The drone attacks were effectively countered, and a suitable response was provided to the CFVs.

The #IndianArmy remains dedicated to protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Nation. Any malicious intentions will be met with force,’ the statement on X indicated. The Indian Army also published a video depicting the destruction of a Pakistani post resulting from airstrikes conducted across the Line of Control. Although the specific location of the targeted post has not been revealed, the footage highlights India’s robust and measured response to the ongoing ceasefire violations.
