New Delhi: In New Delhi, it was reported that Pakistani forces initiated unprovoked gunfire at Indian positions along the Line of Control for the second consecutive night, amid rising tensions following the tragic killing of 26 civilians at a popular tourist destination in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
The Indian Army indicated that the firing originated from several posts across the Line of Control, which serves as the unofficial boundary between the Indian and Pakistani military forces in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Officials confirmed that Indian troops effectively retaliated to the Pakistani gunfire, with no casualties reported during the exchange, according to an Indian Army statement.
The statement noted, ‘During the night of April 25-26, 2025, unprovoked small arms fire was conducted by multiple Pakistan Army posts across the Line of Control in Kashmir. Indian forces responded appropriately with small arms, and no casualties were reported.’
