SHAKTI DUBEY: AIR 1, UPSC 2024
Achieving All India Rank 1 is Shakti Dubey, a remarkable individual from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. She successfully cleared the UPSC on her first attempt, and her journey is both relatable and motivational.
Her father is a police officer, while her mother is a homemaker, representing a typical Indian middle-class family. However, her unique perspective on life distinguished her from others.
After finishing school, Shakti enrolled at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi, where she engaged deeply in hostel life and intellectual discussions.
This exposure to a variety of viewpoints on campus was instrumental in developing the analytical skills essential for a civil servant.
Shakti’s experience illustrates that achieving success in the UPSC is not solely reliant on academic knowledge; it also involves innovative thinking.

HARSHITA GOYAL: AIR 2, UPSC 2024
Claiming All India Rank 2, Harshita Goyal has established herself among the elite with a compelling journey that spans two states.
Born in Haryana and raised in Vadodara, Gujarat, Harshita’s upbringing combines the cultural depth of northern India with the academic excellence of the west.
As a Chartered Accountant, Harshita earned her BCom from MS University of Baroda before venturing into civil services.
Her choice to study Political Science and International Relations as her optional subject showcases her broad intellectual curiosity, extending well beyond the realm of accounting and financial management.
Dongre Archit Parag, who achieved All India Rank 3
Dongre Archit Parag, who achieved All India Rank 3 in the UPSC 2024 examination, hails from Pune, Maharashtra. A graduate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from VIT Vellore, Archit transitioned from his role in an IT company to pursue UPSC preparation full-time. This was not his initial attempt; he had previously secured Rank 153 in the UPSC CSE 2023. Undeterred, he returned with renewed vigor in 2024, achieving a position among the top three candidates, making him the highest-ranked individual from Maharashtra this year.
Archit selected Philosophy as his optional subject, a field that requires profound reasoning and clarity of thought. The subsequent allocation of services will be contingent upon rank, preferences, and eligibility categories, with detailed marks and cut-offs to be published on upsc.gov.in within 15 days. Currently, India honors these exceptional individuals, not solely for their ranks but for their bravery in pursuing a greater purpose.
