Telangana CM Revanth Reddy alleges conspiracy to block 42 pc reservations for BCs

New Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, on Sunday, March 9, accused certain factions of orchestrating a calculated effort to obstruct the implementation of 42 percent reservations for backward classes.

He emphasized that the collection of caste census data aims to enhance policies benefiting backward communities and condemned opposition parties for their attempts to misrepresent caste-related statistics.

While addressing the All India Padmashali Mahasabha in Hyderabad, he affirmed that his administration has conducted the caste census with utmost transparency.

“We will not permit anyone to undermine the rights of backward communities. There is a calculated effort to hinder the 42 percent reservations for BCs, but we will resolutely oppose it,” he asserted.

He reassured the Padmashali community of the government’s dedication to ensuring justice and equitable representation for them.

Reiterating his administration’s commitment to empowering marginalized groups, the Chief Minister vowed to provide steadfast support in terms of economic, political, and employment opportunities for Padmashalis.

Additionally, Revanth Reddy pledged full support to the handloom sector and its weavers. He announced the allocation of Rs 600 crore for handloom orders, which will include 1.3 crore sarees aimed at supporting weavers and promoting the handloom industry. These sarees are set to be distributed among women’s self-help groups.
