‘Either someone from party…or relative’: Himani Narwal’s mother on daughter’s killer

New Delhi: The family of Himani Narwal, a Congress worker who was tragically murdered, has called for the death penalty for the suspect following the arrest of one individual linked to the case.

Savita, the mother of the deceased, expressed her belief that the perpetrator is someone familiar to the family, possibly affiliated with the party, her college, or a relative. She stated, “I am convinced that someone attempted to harm her, and her resistance led to this horrific outcome.” She further emphasized her demand for the death penalty, noting that there has been no communication from government officials regarding the case.

Himani Narwal’s remains were discovered in a suitcase near the Sampla bus stand along the Rohtak-Delhi highway on March 1. Bijendra Singh, the SHO of Sampla police station, indicated to ANI that the evidence suggests the young woman was murdered and her body discarded, with ongoing investigations to follow.

Savita had previously claimed that the pressures of elections and party affiliations contributed to her daughter’s demise. “The election and the party led to my daughter’s death. She may have made some enemies, possibly within the party or among her acquaintances. On February 28, she was at home,” she remarked.

She added, “Her association with Rahul Gandhi and closeness to the Hooda family may have incited jealousy among others.”

Jatin, Himani’s brother, informed ANI, “One suspect has been apprehended, and we will proceed with her cremation today. There are numerous rumors circulating in the media… We seek justice… However, we remain uninformed about the identity of the suspect, as the police have not provided us with any details… We demand the death penalty for the accused.”

Her uncle stated, “Regardless of who the accused may be, we seek justice… We will not proceed with her cremation until the identity of the suspect is disclosed… We have not received any updates from the police.”
