BJP releases 2nd candidates list for Delhi polls; Kapil Mishra to contest in Karawal Nagar

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced its second list of candidates for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections on Saturday. Among the candidates, former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member Kapil Mishra has been nominated to contest from the Karawal Nagar constituency in the national capital.

The list comprises 29 candidates, including Harish Khurana, who will represent the party in Moti Nagar, and Priyanka Gautam, who is set to contest in Kondli. Other candidates include Raj Karan Khatri in Narela, Surya Prakash Khatri in Timarpur, Gajendra Daral in Mundka, Bajrang Shukla in Kirari, Karan Singh Karma in Sultanpur Majra, Karnail Singh in Shakur Basti, and Tilak Ram Gupta in Trinagar.

Manoj Kumar Jindal has been selected for Sadar Bazar, Satish Jain for Chandni Chowk, Deepti Indora for Matia Mahal, Urmila Kailash Gangwal for Madipur, Shyam Sharma for Hari Nagar, Shweta Saini for Tilak Nagar, Pankaj Kumar Singh for Vikaspuri, Pawan Sharma for Uttam Nagar, Pradyumn Rajput for Dwarka, Sandeep Sehrawat for Matiala, Neelam Pahalwan for Najafgarh, Kuldeep Solanki for Palam, Umang Bajaj for Rajinder Nagar, Neeraj Basoya for Kasturba Nagar, and Rohtas Bidhuri for Tughlakabad.

Additionally, the party has nominated Manish Chaudhary for Okhla, Priyanka Gautam for Kondli (SC), Abhay Verma for Laxmi Nagar, and Anil Gaur for Seelampur.

Kapil Mishra, who previously served as a minister in Arvind Kejriwal’s administration, joined the BJP in 2019.

In its first list released last week, the BJP had announced Parvesh Verma as the candidate against AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi assembly constituency, with Ramesh Bidhuri contesting in Kalkaji against Chief Minister Atishi.

Other candidates from the first list included Dushyant Gautam in Karol Bagh, Manjinder Singh Sirsa in Rajouri Garden, Kailash Gehlot in Bijwasan, and Arvinder Singh Lovely in Gandhi Nagar.
