Padmanabhaswamy temple is one of the holy places in south India. It is situated in Thiruvananthapuram Kerala. It is devoted to lord Vishnu. The style of the building is in Kerala style of architecture and it is also in Dravidian style

According to scholars and historians, the temple was built in the 8th century but its structure was built in the 18th century. It was built by Travancore Maharaja Marthanda Varma. The temple was initially made of wood but later it was made of granite. This temple is one of the 108 pilgrimage sites of Lord Vishnu. It is also called the divine country of India.

He started the Bhadra Deepam and Murjapam festivals in the temple. Murjapam means chanting and prayer. It is current and thereafter it comes to the temple every six years. The capital of Kerala is Thiruvananthapuram which is named after the deity Sheshnaga Anantha on whom Lord Vishnu rests. He gave the kingdom of Travancore to his idol Swami Padmanatha.It was made from 12008 Shaligon which was taken from the banks of Gardali River of Nepal. The main statue is approximately 19 feet height.
