Rameshwaram temple is one of the famous temples. It is devoted to God Shiva it is located in Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples. It is also known as one of the char dhams in India.
Rameshwaram temple was built by Muthuramalinga Sethupathy. It is a holy place where many pilgrims come and seek blessings. According to scholars, it was established by the god Ram when he was returning for Ayodhya after killed Ravan in Sri Lanka.
Before he crossed the bridge which is known as Island Srilanka he worshipped the god Shiva there which is called Rameshwaram.
