Will double GDP in five years: Uttarakhand Governor

In Bharadisain located in the summer capital Gairsain, Governor Lt. The budget session of the Vidhan Sabha began with the speech of Gurmeet Singh (Senior). During this, the opposition members raised slogans and protested outside and inside the house. The Congress MLAs kept on raising slogans throughout the Governor’s speech. In the end, the governor had to appeal to the opposition members to remain calm. On this, the opposition members calmed down for some time but then again started raising slogans. The governor drank water several times while reading the budget. Meanwhile, all the members of the ruling party along with Leader of the House Pushkar Singh Dhami tried to suppress the slogans of the opposition members by thumping the table fiercely in between.

In the 16-page speech, the Governor laid down the vision of the future development of the Dhami government. He said that the government is working for a strong Uttarakhand. According to the belief of PM Narendra Modi, the third decade of the 21st century will be the decade of Uttarakhand. The Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Uttarakhand will be doubled in the next five years.

In order to achieve the goal of development, he kept the department-wise ongoing development plans in the speech. He said that work is being done on the vision of a strong Uttarakhand to make Uttarakhand a leading state of the country by the year 2025. State Institute for Empowering and Transforming Uttarakhand (SETU) is being set up on the lines of NITI Aayog. Uttarakhand Infrastructure Investment Development Board is being formed to speed up the economic development of the state. The Minister in charge, secretary in charge, divisional commissioner, and district magistrate is going to village chaupal and a new initiative has been taken for their night stay.

  • Tourism policy will come to promote investment.
  • Parking will be made for 1050 vehicles in Dehradun.
  • Assets of GMVN-KMVN will be disinvested, new tourist areas will be formed.
  • The government will provide employment opportunities and training to the youth
  • Proposals have been sought from reputed institutions to provide employment opportunities in foreign countries.
  • Linkage cells will be formed in industries under the Work Force Development Project.
  • Domain experts will be arranged for skill training. Subject experts in the fields of ITI, agriculture, drone technology, solar, tourism, beauty wellness, electronics etc. will train the youth.
  • Center for Excellence will be set up in Kashipur and the manufacturing sector in Haridwar through a leading firm of the respective sector.
  • On-the-job training and accommodation facility for trainees coming from far-off places in Dehradun, Haridwar, Kashipur, and Dineshpur hostels near industrial locations.
  • Workshops and finishing schools will be opened with the help of industries in the field of electrical, manufacturing, RAC, and industrial production. Foreign Employment Cell, Model Career Center, and Departmental Training Center will be set up under Skill Hub.

  • From 2023-24, free books will be given to all students of classes 9 to 12 in government secondary schools and non-government-aided schools. Vidya review centers will be set up in schools for real-time attendance, child tracking, achievement of students, transfer of teachers, and preparation of data related to academic activities and online monitoring.

The Governor’s address is a reflection of the entire state. Everything is contained in the Governor’s address. The opposition does not have concrete issues. Together we all have to take the state of Uttarakhand forward.

Uttarakhand is doing its best in the whole nation. In many places, it is first, somewhere second, and somewhere third. For that, I congratulate the Chief Minister and the state government. The Prime Minister has also said that the third decade of the 21st century will belong to Uttarakhand. Every Uttarakhandi is working hard for this and no one can stop Uttarakhand from becoming the number one state.
