In a welcome change from the heatwave that affected Delhi earlier this week, the skies over the national capital became overcast on Thursday, accompanied by light rain in certain areas of the city.

Despite this, temperatures in some locations reached 40 degrees Celsius on Thursday. The weather monitoring stations at Ridge and Ayanagar recorded temperatures of 40.9 degrees Celsius and 40.2 degrees Celsius, respectively, as reported by the meteorological department.

Thunderstorms are anticipated on Friday and Saturday. Following Thursday’s weather, the IMD has indicated that similar conditions are expected in Delhi on these days. The national capital is likely to experience a cloudy sky, along with thunderstorms and light rain on April 11 and 12.

On Friday, the weather may result in fallen trees or branches, potentially causing minor traffic disruptions. Commuters are urged to exercise caution while traveling. Additionally, the weather may lead to power supply interruptions in certain areas of Delhi NCR.

Individuals are advised to check for traffic delays on their routes before departing and to maintain a safe distance from power lines or electrical wires. It is also recommended to stay away from water bodies and any conductive materials.
